Independence Blossoms – Aliya’s Story

My 7-year-old son had always been dependent on us for every little task, from dressing himself to communicating with family members. He rarely spoke, and when he did, it was often incoherent or limited to a few words. Simple activities, like answering the phone or changing his clothes, were beyond his capabilities.

Since starting the third course of treatment, the improvement has been remarkable. Yesterday, for the first time, he answered the phone on his own. He introduced himself by name and even had a conversation with his aunt—something I never thought I would witness. His newfound independence doesn’t stop there. He now changes his clothes after school without needing help and even asked for money to buy ice cream, showing initiative that he never displayed before. These milestones, though they may seem small to others, have been life-changing for us. His confidence is growing every day, and we couldn’t be prouder of the strides he’s making.
