Science Behind Protocol
Dr. Alibek has successfully treated over 1,000 autistic children in his private practice and together with his team have published six articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals regarding the Protocol.
Guided by extensive research of published scientific studies, coupled with data and results compiled from treating autistic children, Dr. Alibek determined that virtually all of the children with autism that he treated tested positive for certain undiagnosed chronic and latent viral, bacterial, and/or fungal infections and inflammation. At the bottom of this page is data on the results of the blood tests in his practice.
Studies show that many of the infections that Dr. Alibek has identified can cause a disruption in brain development. These children carry the infections and inflammations throughout childhood, which often disrupt normal brain development.
Alibek’s findings regarding the connection between viral infections and autism were confirmed in a study published in The World Journal of Virology (and reprinted by the National Institute of Health) entitled: “Virus and Autism: A Bi-Mutual Cause and Effect”. The authors reviewed 158 scholarly articles, and concluded that:
1. Several factors, as opposed to one definite cause, have been identified which increase the risk of development of autism, including genetic and environmental factors. However, there is clearly a mutual relationship between viral infections and autism.
2. There is an increased risk of developing autism when a mother contracts a viral infection during pregnancy or if the child does, especially early in life which is a critical period for the brain to develop.
3. Viral infections directly infect the brain, trigger immune activation and raise the risk of developing autism.
4. Viral infections induce neuroinflammation that affects many neurological processes, including neural development, brain structures, synapse plasticity, cognition, and behavior.
5. Specific viral infections documented in the studies that are associated with autism include Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, Herpes Simplex, Varicella Zoster, Influenza and Zika. Click Here to read the article.
